Tere,
The attempt to have a 2 pack professional paint job on my originally black steering wheel has not really worked well as the underlying plastic/resin is wanting to breathe something out and is pushing the cream colored paint up, causing it to bubble. So a new steering wheel is probably the only way to go.
So, in looking around, I see that Retrodetal has 2, one for 17,000 ($550) and another for 22,500 rubles ($730)
Autoclassika has one for $320 (new)
Besides the general term of "quality" what could be the real difference between all these, if I am just driving the car on occasions and it is always garaged?
Any other suggestions?
If anyone wants to offer a wheel, it has to be originally cream and "like new" condition.

The main difference between original steering wheel and replica is material which is used. Original steerings were made of organic plastic and are not resistable to sunlight and humidity. And there is always some humidity in the air. And when your steering starts to bubble, it is impossible to stop the process. If you buy original wheel the chance that it also starts to melt is quite high.
Replica steering has made of new plastic which is more resistable, because technology has developed during the last 60 years.
Original detail is original, I understand, but if you want some kind of guarantee, buy the replica. Or buy both one and then compare

The one that costs 22500 rubles looks very nice. I've seen it at Retrodetail shop in St.Petersburg. Unfortunately I can't give You any comments about the cheaper offer. _________________ Terve aasta poole aastaga

My originally black steering wheel was overpainted (like elephant bone colour) in 2009 and fortunately is until today in very good condition. So, maybe it depends on that - which paint You are useing.
With replica details I do n`t have any experience unfortunately.
